1. In what sense is Mary our mother?

Saint Mary is our mother in a spiritual sense. By being the mother of Jesus Christ, she is the mother of those who are united to Him by grace. By being the mother of Christ, she is the mother of the mystical body of Christ. By being the Mother of God, she is the mother of the children of God.

2. Is Mary equally the mother of all?

In Mary's motherhood there is a gradation: in general she is the mother of all men, but more precisely she is the mother of those who live in grace, since we are united to Christ and are children of God through grace. Even among those who live in grace there are some who are holier, more identified with Christ, and in these the divine and Marian filiation are more complete.

3. Since when is Mary our mother?

Saint Mary is our mother from the moment she began to be the Mother of God: at the Annunciation. Afterwards, this motherhood was confirmed at the cross, when Jesus manifested it.

4. Has our Lady exercised her motherhood?

The saints and most Christians have verified from their own experience that Mary is our mother and lovingly cares for her children.

5. How to be good children of Mary?

Here too there is abundant experience about what pleases our Lady (which is always our good). Let us give only two examples:

She knows that love for God does us much good, and she desires that her children be devout and frequent prayer. In particular, the rosary and the scapular are highly recommended Marian devotions.
She also desires that her children avoid sins and often go to confession. Let us not forget that she is Immaculate.
