Man

quick ideas about man. Where do we come from? Where are we going? How should man be?

1. Where do we come from?

What is the origin of man? This famous question is usually answered in three ways:
  • Man creates himself. (A rather absurd claim.)
  • Man was created by a non-intelligent, irrational being, which they call matter, nature, evolutionism... This answer is also confused, since a beautiful and ordered world must have been created by a very intelligent being (see evolutionism; big bang).
  • Man was created by an intelligent being whom we call God.

2. Where are we going?

What is the end of man? The end of man is what his Creator has arranged. And He desires our good. He wants us to be truly happy on earth and in heaven.

3. Why is man sometimes not happy?

Because with his decisions he moves away from God. On this one can see the topic of happiness.

4. How should man be?

The answer to this is very broad, since we must acquire many good habits or virtues. We can summarize it thus: man should be like Jesus Christ, who is the perfect man. Since this is very general, let us give three basic examples:
  • Man must be hardworking. We must work well, achieving personal, family, and social improvement. (The topic of work may be seen.)
  • Man must be devout, must love God. The Lord must occupy the center of human life, so that our actions and work are carried out to glorify and please our Creator. Man must devote abundant and exclusive time to prayer, in order to orient everything else toward God and to obtain more help from the Lord.
  • Man must love other men, for God loves them. This affection for one's neighbor will show in details that make life more pleasant for them. Above all it is necessary to be interested in their soul and their spiritual life. Man must be apostolic.

5. How should the Christian be?

The Christian should also be this way. Only with a superior degree of self-demand and generosity, since we have greater divine assistance (above all the sacraments). For example, the piety of a Christian should include frequent Mass and the Rosary, as a consequence of faith in the Eucharist and love for Our Lady.
