1. Who is the Virgin Mary?
Mary is the Mother of Jesus Christ, true God and true man. For this reason Christians call her Mother of God. She is also our mother in the order of grace.

It means that Mary conceived Jesus without the intervention of man, by the power of the Holy Spirit. The Church also confesses that she remained virgin before, during, and after the birth of Christ.
3. Why did God want Mary to be virgin?
Because the origin of Jesus is divine, and because God wanted to fill His Mother with every gift fitting to her mission. Her virginity also shows her total dedication to God.
4. Is Mary important for Christians?
Very much. She leads us to Christ, protects us as a mother, teaches humility and faith, and intercedes for us. True devotion to Mary always strengthens love for Jesus.
