1. What are the Christian religions?
There are quite a few different Christian churches. We can gather them into three groups:
- the Catholic Church
- the Orthodox Churches
- the Evangelical or Protestant Churches.
2. Why are they called Christian?
These religions are called Christian because they recognize Christ as the Son of God made man, they derive from the Church that Christ founded, and they seek to practice and spread the teachings of Christ (Christian doctrine).
3. What do the Christian religions have in common?
They agree on quite a few things:
- There is one God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- Jesus Christ is the Second Person of the Trinity made man. He suffered and died on the cross to save us.
- The ten commandments are the summary of the morality to be practiced.
- Baptism is the beginning of Christian life.
- Prayer and the Bible are indispensable; etc.
4. What is ecumenism?
Ecumenism is the attitude or activity that seeks the unity of Christians.
