God

There are three primary paths: observing creation, learning what He has revealed about Himself, and praying.

By observing creation, several conclusions can be drawn about the Creator:

• God is immensely wise and powerful to create so splendid a universe (big bang ; evolutionism).
• The Creator possesses to the highest degree the perfections we see in creatures, without any mixture of defects or limitations. For example, God is Good and Just, and is not mortal.
• God is spiritual, since material beings can break and perish.
• God is eternal: the Creator must have always existed, for otherwise, who would have created Him?
• God is humble: He created a universe while passing unnoticed.

Studying the teachings of Jesus Christ is a sound and reliable path to knowing God. Through them, we learn, among other truths, that:

• God rewards the good (heaven) and punishes the wicked (hell).
• There are three Persons in God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
• God loves us deeply: the Son of God became man and died on the Cross to save us.

Prayer is a simple yet profound way to know the Lord. It draws us into divine friendship and intimacy. In prayer, we gain a clearer understanding of His plans and desires: what pleases or displeases Him in our own personal conduct and in humanity in general. In prayer we can also ask God for help, and this divine assistance is a most efficacious means of drawing closer to Him.

striving to lead a holy life. This eager desire to fulfill the divine will strengthens and deepens our love for the Lord, and love discovers a thousand things about the beloved. Furthermore, God Himself reveals Himself more intimately to those who love Him.
