You don't need to step on anyone to get ahead
In very competitive environments it seems that either you take advantage or others take advantage of you. There's another way.
In some companies, degree courses or teams the air is full of competition: everyone for themselves, distrust, information that isn't shared, credit that someone else claims. It seems that if you don't step on others, they'll step on you.
There's no need to be naive. But there's no need either to pressure, shout, deceive or take advantage of anyone to achieve good goals. You can work with ambition and, at the same time, help, recognize other people's merit and be loyal.
An environment like that changes from within, thanks to people who live differently. Aim to be the boss, the colleague or the teacher others could end up being friends with. That's also doing your job well.
Key idea
You can have professional ambition and still be loyal and a good colleague.
Your challenge for this idea
Today, in front of others, give a colleague credit for something they did well.
