You do not pray to an energy

Many people today believe in "something": a force, an energy, a universe that listens. Christianity says something much bolder: that "something" has a name, and you can relate to him. To the Father you speak as a child; to Jesus, as the friend who knows what it is to be man; to the Holy Spirit, as the teacher within. They are not three gods or three faces of the same character: they are three Persons and one God. That is why Christian prayer is never a relaxation technique: it is dealing with someone who knows you by name. St. Josemaría advised a very simple devotion: "I believe in God the Father, I believe in God the Son, I believe in God the Holy Spirit; I hope...; I love...". Said slowly, it brings order and affection to your relationship with God.
