Working is collaborating with God
Work is not a punishment: it was part of the plan from the beginning.
We often experience work as a sentence or a necessary evil to pay bills. But according to Genesis, work existed before evil entered the world. It is not the fruit of punishment: it is part of how we were designed.
Seen this way, when you work well you are not just earning your bread: you collaborate with God in carrying the world forward and you serve others. Your task, however small it may seem, enters into something much larger.
That does not take away the tiredness, but it changes the foundation. You are not wasting time until the weekend: you are contributing your part to a work that surpasses you.
Key idea
Your work, done with purpose, is collaborating with God and serving others.
Your challenge for this idea
