Why does the Church speak about sexuality?

Mark as read

What touches love and the body touches the entire human person.

The Church does not speak about sexuality out of obsession, but because very great goods are at stake there: love, the body, fidelity, life, children, and dignity. Separating sex from its meaning can end up turning people into means of pleasure. Christian morality does not despise the body or love; it protects them so that they are not degraded. It does not help to close this question with a quick phrase. If it arises, it can be a good occasion to form your faith better, seek advice, and think with more calm. The Church does not fear honest questions; what impoverishes is not wanting to search sincerely.

Key idea

Sexuality matters because it involves the whole person.

Your challenge for this idea

Ask yourself whether your emotional decisions treat the other as a person or as a means.
