When you feel too small for what is asked of you
Feeling small isn't the problem; believing everything depends on you is.
You're given something that feels too big for you: a new position, looking after someone, a step God is asking of you. And right away the list of excuses appears: "I'm not ready," "others would do it better," "I can't speak in public," "I don't have time."
Sometimes those excuses have some truth to them. On your own, maybe you can't. But you don't have to go alone. God doesn't usually call those who feel capable, but those who trust him. And he almost always puts someone nearby who knows more than you.
Recognizing your limits is healthy. Using them to avoid moving, not so much. Between "I can't" and "I can handle anything" there's a more realistic path: "I can't do it alone, but I'm not going alone."
Key idea
Your limits don't disqualify you if you don't go alone.
Your challenge for this idea
Faced with a task that feels too big, instead of repeating why you can't, ask God today for help, and someone who knows.
