Thirty years no one saw

Of the thirty-three years of Jesus, the Gospels recount almost only the last three. And before? Nazareth: a small town, a workshop, a house. Decades of rising early, working with wood, obeying his parents, turning to God like everyone else. God on earth, and no one wrote a line, because it did not seem newsworthy. Those years were not the waiting room for "the real thing." They were already the life of God among us: if they had been wasted time, he would not have devoted almost his entire life to them. In Nazareth, Jesus was saying without words that the ordinary matters. Our age only counts what is seen: metrics, windows, stories to publish. The hidden life of Jesus says the opposite: the years without an audience also build. They may be, precisely, the ones that build the most.
