The ouija board is not a game

Ouija boards, mediums, "contacting the beyond": it returns every few years as entertainment, a series, or a viral challenge. For faith this is not a neutral hobby, and the Church says it clearly: seeking messages or powers through those channels means opening doors you do not control and twisting something sacred—our relationship with the hereafter—into manipulation and curiosity. Beneath it there are usually very human, respectable motives: grief for someone who died, the need for answers, fear of the future. But the Christian answer to that wound is not a séance: it is the communion of saints. With your deceased a channel already exists, and it is better: pray for them, entrust yourself to God, await the reunion. Christians do not live surrounded by spirits to coax or appease: they live in the hands of a Father. That is the difference between fear and peace.
