Marriage and celibacy do not compete

Some people are called to marriage and others to a celibate life. The article does not present one path as a prize and the other as a backup plan: both are called to lead to holiness and have Christ as their goal. Comparing them as if they competed distorts both. Marriage is not a less spiritual option, and celibacy is not being left without love. Each vocation has gifts, sacrifices, and its own way of serving. The important question is not which seems superior from the outside, but where you can learn to love as God calls you. Discernment asks you to look at the truth of your vocation, not to seek the label with the most prestige.
