Life cannot be entirely improvised

Spontaneity has its place, but an entire life cannot depend on the whim of the moment. Without direction, whatever feels appealing today decides over what you are going to need tomorrow. Vocation, duties, and ideals help to order the path. They do not control everything, but they provide an orientation so you do not live merely on the impulse of the moment. Here the fundamental question is simple: what is truly leading your life. Sometimes there are many tasks, many plans, and a lot of information, but very little direction. When a truth truly enters, it also changes your calendar and the way you look at yourself.
