Learn to lose without hating

Defeat reveals a great deal about what you carry inside.

Losing stings. Falling short of what you wanted, finishing second, making a mistake, or seeing someone else do better can prick your pride in an uncomfortable way. But losing does not have to make you bitter. It can teach you to pick yourself up, congratulate others, correct mistakes, train harder, and remember that your worth does not depend on winning every time. Maturity shows when you do not turn the other person into an enemy for having outperformed you. Humility is trained there too.

Key idea

Losing well can build more character than winning without learning anything.

Your challenge for this idea

Sincerely congratulate someone today who did something better than you.
