Guard what you look at

Mark as read

What you let in through your eyes forms you on the inside.

We live surrounded by screens and images that enter without asking permission. Not everything you look at is harmless: part of what you see stays inside and shapes how you desire, how you compare, and how you treat others. Guarding your gaze is not closing your eyes to the world or becoming distrustful. It is the opposite: learning to look without consuming, without reducing people to a body or an object to appraise. Looking well is beginning to truly see. It is a positive and very relevant struggle. You decide what to open, what to close, how long to stay. And you discover that when you purify your gaze, even ordinary things regain beauty.
