Grace also does its work slowly

Some changes arrive in an unmistakable way; others advance so slowly that they can only be noticed when looking back over several years. Expecting instant results can lead you to label as a failure a process that is still quietly growing. Grace takes into account your freedom, your habits, your wounds, and time. It does not work like a coat covering up your personality, but from deep within: it enlightens, sustains decisions, and allows you to start over after genuine setbacks. Patience must not turn into an excuse. Keep applying practical means, asking for help, and repairing whatever is necessary. But avoid measuring God's action purely by speed. Perhaps today you have not completely won, yet you already respond with far more humility than before.
