God remains faithful in the confusion of the Church

Mark as read

A crisis within the Church does not force you to think that Christ has abandoned her.

The story of Moncada arises in an era of antipopes and divisions that sowed doubts even about the ordination of some priests. Ecclesial confusion was not a distant idea: it touched his conscience and his ministry. Today, too, scandals, disagreements, or poor decisions can make you wonder if everything is broken. Denying problems does not help. Yet neither is it fair to conclude that God's faithfulness depends on every member of the Church acting perfectly. Remaining does not mean approving of everything. It can call for studying, denouncing what is fitting, praying, and distinguishing human fragility from the gift Christ continues to sustain.

Key idea

The fragility of Church members does not cancel the faithfulness of Christ.

Your challenge for this idea

When faced with difficult ecclesial news, separate verified facts from hasty conclusions in writing.
