God is not infinite solitude

The Trinity sounds like an enigma for theologians, but it is the most practical thing faith says about God: one God, and in him three Persons who have loved each other from all eternity. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is not a lonely being bored in his eternity: he is communion, family, love in motion before the world existed. And that affects you directly. If you are made in the image of that God, you are not designed for self-sufficiency. That is why shutting yourself in dims you and loving well expands you: it is no coincidence, you are either going against your design or in accord with it. That you do not understand it completely is not a failure: it is a mystery, not a riddle. It is not solved; it is inhabited. And you begin to inhabit it by loving.
