Finish the small things
Constancy is broken more by small surrenders than by great defeats.
Starting is usually exciting; finishing is usually humble. Constancy grows when you do what you should even when it no longer has shine or novelty.
You do not need to wait for perfect motivation. You need to accomplish the next possible step. Every finished task strengthens a simple conviction: I can be faithful in small things.
Discipline is played out in quite ordinary things: the body, the schedule, and those small daily yeses. Often what matters is not spectacular: starting on time, curbing an excess, finishing something, or fulfilling an obligation even when you no longer feel like it.
Key idea
Constancy is built by finishing concrete steps.
