Fidelity renews its own yes

A promise spoken once creates a stable direction. Over time, however, it can easily turn into mere inertia: you fulfill requirements outwardly while your attention and affection steadily withdraw. Living fidelity updates its yes under fresh circumstances. It asks what the person, the vocation, or the task you chose truly needs today. Sometimes that will be enthusiasm; at other times, patience, conversation, or practical help. Renewing does not mean subjecting every promise to the passing emotion of the day. On the contrary, it enables you to navigate shifting emotions with genuine freedom. Nor does it prevent reviewing unjust situations that require protection. Wherever a commitment is good, each present response makes it contemporary. The past opened the path; your yes today prevents it from turning into an abandoned route.
