Does chastity repress?

Chastity does not consist in hating desire, nor in living in fear of the human body. It consists in ordering sexuality according to true love and the dignity of the person. A desire without governance can use, wound, and confuse. Chastity frees love from haste and from selfishness. It does not extinguish the capacity to love; it educates it to give itself better. The key is not to use doubt as an excuse to remain standing still. A well-lived question can bring you closer to God if it is asked with humility, seeks the truth, and is ready to change something upon finding light.
