Do not share without verifying
Forwarding a lie is also a failure against the truth.
On networks and groups everything moves fast: a headline, an audio, a screenshot, and off to share. But taking as fact what is not true, and spreading it, causes harm: it feeds hoaxes, unfair judgments, and ruined reputations. Believing everything lightly is the opposite of loving the truth.
You do not need to become distrustful of everything. A simple habit is enough: before forwarding, ask yourself if it is true, if it is fair, and if it is needed. Many things fail that test and are better left unspread.
Each of us is responsible for what we create and what we propagate. A little critical thinking and restraint prevents much damage that can never be undone.
Key idea
Spreading without checking makes you an accomplice to the lie and the damage it causes.
Your challenge for this idea
Before forwarding anything today, pause: is it true, is it fair, is it needed? If in doubt, do not send it.
