Do not marry your mood
Your mood changes; your commitments should not change along with it.
There are days when everything feels heavy and others when everything comes easy. If every mood decides your duties, your relationships, and your prayer, you will live far too unstable.
Emotional constancy does not mean feeling the same way all the time. It means not letting a passing cloud break good commitments. Love needs firmer ground than the mood of the moment.
The interior life needs patience. Some emotions signal a wound, tiredness, or a disordered desire; others simply pass. Maturing means not taking them as if they were law, yet not ignoring them either as if they said nothing.
Key idea
Good commitments should not depend completely on daily mood.
Your challenge for this idea
Fulfill a responsibility today even if your mood is not in it.
