Christ didn't leave just an idea: he left a people with guidance.
The Church isn't born of human affinity or similar tastes. Christ wanted a visible community, with Peter and his successors, to guard the faith and lead people toward salvation.
This doesn't remove the weaknesses of her members. But it recalls something decisive: the Christian faith isn't inventing a private path, but receiving and living what Christ handed on.
