Chastity is also for married couples

We usually think of chastity as something for single people or priests: holding out until the moment comes. But married couples are also called to live it. In marriage, chastity means loving the other as a whole person, without ever reducing them to an object for your pleasure. It is neither coldness nor less love; it is the opposite. It means making sure that physical affection is always an expression of true self-giving, not a release that uses the person beside you. Spousal love is also shown in respect, tenderness, and self-control, not only in attraction. Living it this way protects the relationship from a subtle trap: taking the other for granted, treating them with less delicacy "because they are already mine." Chastity in marriage keeps "I choose you" alive, even at home.
