After a day when nothing works out
Some days end empty-handed. There's room for those days too.
You study and it doesn't stick, you work and nothing comes out, you try and you come home empty-handed. There are days like that, and they're doubly tiring: because of the effort and because of the feeling that it was all for nothing.
In those moments it's easy to punish yourself with reproaches or take stock of your whole life. But one bad day doesn't sum anything up. The first thing isn't to analyze it, but to rest: have a calm dinner, talk to someone, go to bed.
God doesn't wait for you only when you succeed. He also waits for you when you come back empty-handed, without lectures or reproaches, so you can get your strength back. Tomorrow you can start again.
Key idea
God doesn't only wait for you when you succeed: he also waits when you come back empty-handed.
Your challenge for this idea
If something went wrong for you today, before you go over and over it, rest a while and tell God about it.
