Opus Dei books

- They contain very brief reflections that spark conversation with God and stimulate desires for personal improvement:

• The Way (Camino).- The most famous book of Saint Josemaría Escrivá. More than 4,500,000 copies have been published in 43 languages. Do not fail to read it.
• Furrow (Surco).- Structured with the same format as The Way. Its final point is perhaps not the most profound, but it is charming and unforgettable.
• The Forge (Forja).- Similar to the previous books. One may highlight the opening point, frequently quoted and deeply encouraging.

- Collections of homilies and meditations that Saint Josemaría preached and prepared for publication:

• Christ Is Passing By (Es Cristo que pasa).- Homilies arranged following the major feasts of the liturgical year. The very first homily is particularly notable.
• Friends of God (Amigos de Dios).- Outstanding meditations on various Christian virtues. It concludes with the celebrated homily “Towards Holiness.”
• In Love with the Church (Amar a la Iglesia).- Gathers three sermons centered upon the Church and the priesthood. It is a shorter work of which some 40,000 copies have been published.

- They help one live two traditional Christian devotions with deep attention and piety:

• Holy Rosary (Santo Rosario).- A brisk, concise book that aids in contemplating the mysteries of the Holy Rosary.
• The Way of the Cross (Via Crucis).- Follows the traditional stations of the Cross, adding short, evocative paragraphs to meditate upon the Passion of our Lord.

- The first is just as excellent as those already mentioned, while the other two are of specialized interest and smaller circulation:

• Conversations with Monsignor Escrivá de Balaguer (Conversaciones).- Contains extensive interviews granted by the Founder of Opus Dei to major international media outlets. It concludes with the renowned homily: “Passionately Loving the World.”
• La Abadesa de Las Huelgas.- A technical historical-juridical study publishing Saint Josemaría's doctoral dissertation. There is no need for you to read it unless you have a specialized interest in canon and civil law history.
• Discourses on the University.- The University of Navarre compiled here several academic allocutions delivered by Saint Josemaría.
