Your story doesn't end with what they did to you
What was done to you is part of your story, but it doesn't have to define it.
Some wounds leave a mark: a betrayal, an abuse, an injustice at work or in the family. And over time it's easy for them to become the sentence you use to introduce yourself: "this is what was done to me."
What they did to you is real, and there's no need to downplay it. But it doesn't have to be the last word on your life. Many people have found, years later, a good they never would have imagined at first: a new strength, a way of helping others, a different kind of peace.
God knows how to bring good even out of what others did for evil. He doesn't make it good, but he doesn't let it have the last word. And sometimes that good includes being able to forgive.
Key idea
What others did to harm you doesn't have the last word in your life.
Your challenge for this idea
Think of something that was done to you and ask God today to help you see what good can come of it.
