Your soul needs space

The human being is not only body, schedule, and stimuli. You have an inner life, a capacity for truth, freedom, love, and a relationship with God. If you do not tend that part, something dries up even though outwardly everything works. Giving space to the soul is not fleeing from the world. It is living with greater depth within it: thinking, turning to God, choosing well, and not letting the immediate be the only reality. To keep this from remaining theory, it helps to bring it down to a concrete decision: a pending conversation, a small renunciation, a priority that needs ordering, or a more Christian way of looking at what is happening.
