Your soul cannot be weighed

Understanding, loving, choosing, and seeking the truth are acts that go beyond the purely material. They cannot be weighed like a stone, but they are real and they shape your entire life. The existence of the soul helps explain why the human being cannot be treated as an object. There is a spiritual depth that calls for respect, destiny, and responsibility. It does not help to close this question with a quick phrase. If it arises, it can be a good occasion to form your faith better, seek advice, and think more calmly. The Church does not fear honest questions; what impoverishes is not wanting to search in earnest.
