Meaning

Your gifts do not end with you

Mark as read

A capacity kept only to show off ends up smaller than the gift received.

Intelligence, a knack for organizing, humor, or the ability to listen can bring you satisfaction and open doors. But their meaning does not end with your personal development. Every gift also creates a possibility of service that did not exist before. Putting a capacity at the service of others does not require giving away all your time or allowing abuses. It means asking yourself what good you can contribute from what you do especially well: teaching, lightening a burden, improving an environment, or solving a problem everyone avoids. When talent becomes service, it does not lose value; it matures. You stop measuring it only by applause or output and discover its fruitfulness. What was received then becomes a response, not a trophy you must protect.

Key idea
