Your example reaches further than you see

A coherent gesture may seem small and receive no response. Someone sees that you do not join in a mockery, that you work well without supervision, or that you apologize after making a mistake. You do not control what that scene produces. Perhaps it confirms another person in a good decision or shows them that a different way of acting exists. Example works without speeches and often without its author knowing. This is not an invitation to live performing for an audience. On the contrary: it is a reminder that ordinary conduct has a social dimension. Your choices make the good easier or harder for others. Being coherent even when it seems useless can light a lamp visible to the whole room.
