You see much, but look little

Mark as read

Not everything that passes before your eyes truly enters your life.

You can see hundreds of images a day and yet look very little. You move from one screen to another, from one plan to another, from one conversation to another, but inside you are not always present. Truly looking requires stopping. A person, a landscape, a phrase, or a simple gesture needs a bit of silence to touch you. If everything passes by quickly, even good things slip away. Temperance also educates the gaze. It is not about hating screens, but about regaining control so you can be where you are. Sometimes the soul begins to rest when you stop consuming and return to contemplation.

Key idea

Truly looking demands presence, not merely having your eyes open.

Your challenge for this idea

Pause today for five minutes before something simple without taking a photo or checking your phone.
