You don't have to be the main character

Mark as read

Sometimes it hurts us that someone else shines where we used to shine.

We live in a culture that invites us to be the center: to have more followers, to be recognized, for our name to be known. And sometimes it hurts us that someone else shines where we used to: the new coworker everyone likes better, the friend everyone listens to. There's another kind of freedom: knowing what your role is and enjoying it without needing to be at the center. Being glad that things go well for someone else, even if it leaves you in the background, like the best man who enjoys the wedding even though the celebration isn't for him. Those who don't need to be the protagonist breathe easier. And they let others grow.

Key idea

Your challenge for this idea
