You can also give rest to God

It is natural to turn to God as a source of peace, help, and forgiveness. It is less common to think that Jesus, true man, also wished to receive friendship: he rested in Bethany, welcomed the closeness of John, and found faithful companionship by the cross. Your prayer does not give God something he lacks, but it can answer his free desire for friendship. Being with him, giving thanks, keeping company by the tabernacle, or caring for what matters to him ceases to be solely a pursuit of personal comfort. This perspective changes the question. Instead of always measuring "what did I get out of prayer," you can ask, "how have I loved God today?" Even a poor and distracted presence, offered with fidelity, can be a real response of friendship.
