Worship puts you in your place
Recognizing that you are not God is the beginning of peace.
Adoration sounds like something ancient, but it is one of the healthiest things there is: recognizing that there is Someone greater than you, and that you are not the center of the universe. It is the posture of one who knows they are a creature before their Creator.
That, far from humiliating you, sets you free. When you adore God, the little idols that enslave you lose their rule over you: what people will say and your own ego. Putting God in his place puts everything else in its place as well.
Nothing complicated is needed: a few minutes of silence recognizing his greatness, a "My God, You are God and I am not." Adoring reorders you within and gives a peace that self-sufficiency never provides.
Key idea
Adoring God frees you from the idols that enslave you.
Your challenge for this idea
Spend a minute today in adoration: in silence, recognize that God is God and give him the center you usually occupy.
