Widening your heart has a price

You like the idea of having many deep bonds, but every real friendship requires attention, memory, and availability. The heart is not widened through good feelings alone. Welcoming someone can disrupt a plan, introduce a different person into the group, or require patience with their insecurities. It also obliges you to care for earlier bonds so novelty does not turn into neglect. You cannot offer the same intimacy to everyone.
