Why does something exist rather than nothing?

The beginning of the universe opens a huge question: why does something exist instead of nothing? Physics can study stages, expansion, and initial conditions, but the question of the foundation remains. Faith looks at creation as a gift. It does not fill gaps of ignorance; it recognizes that the very being of things points to a Creator. It does not help to close this question with a quick phrase. If it arises, it can be a good occasion to form your faith better, seek advice, and think with more calm. The Church does not fear honest questions; what impoverishes is not wanting to search sincerely.
