Why the Mass matters

It can seem repetitive if only viewed from the outside or lived with your mind somewhere else. But the Mass places what is essential at the center: God, self-giving, and life received as a gift. Going to Mass is not merely about attending. It consists in learning to participate, listen, and let that encounter order your week. The Eucharist is not only an inspiring symbol. For a Christian, it is an encounter with Christ and a school for learning to offer your own life as well.
