Why baptize an infant?

Baptism is not merely a religious registration. It is birth into the life of grace, forgiveness of original sin, and real entry into the family of God. That is why the Church also baptizes infants. Parents do not wait for a child to choose to eat, learn, or be cared for; they give them necessary goods from the beginning. Faith will later have to grow, but grace already begins to work. It does not help to close this question with a quick phrase. If it arises, it can be a good occasion to form your faith better, seek advice, and think with more calm. The Church does not fear honest questions; what impoverishes is not wanting to search sincerely.
