When you don't feel like it also counts
The good does not stop being good because it weighs today.
There are good things you don't feel like doing: asking for forgiveness, studying, praying, tidying up, stopping a harmful conversation. If you only do good when it matches your desires, your desires end up ruling.
Christian maturity learns to respect desire without making it king. Sometimes the freest thing of the day will be doing with peace what you did not feel like doing.
This is not about becoming hard, but about gaining freedom. When the will is not trained, it depends too much on the environment, tiredness, or mood. Small acts, repeated with patience, make choosing the good easier.
Key idea
Not every desire deserves to rule over a good decision.
Your challenge for this idea
Do one good thing today that you have been avoiding just because you don't feel like it.
