When plans fall through
What doesn't go as you expected can also be a good day.
You'd been looking forward to that plan all week and, at the last minute, it's canceled. Or the day you had so well organized goes sideways by mid-morning. Being annoyed is normal: you had put enthusiasm and time into something that's no longer going to happen.
But the day isn't lost: it has changed. Dwelling on what didn't happen keeps you from seeing what is there: a free afternoon, someone you weren't counting on, time for something you'd been putting off.
For those who believe, God is also in plan B. Accepting it with good humor isn't settling; it's no longer fighting with what has already happened so you can make the most of what's in front of you.
Key idea
When a plan falls through, the day isn't lost: it changes.
Your challenge for this idea
The next time something goes sideways, take five minutes to think about what you can do with what you do have.
