When a friend is going down the wrong path
You can't always change their direction, but you can keep loving them.
You see a friend getting into something that's hurting them: a relationship that's tearing them apart, a habit that's getting its hooks into them, decisions that are taking them away from who they wanted to be. You've told them what you think and they haven't listened. Now what?
There's a double temptation: insisting so much that you smother them, or stepping away because "they're old enough." Friendship asks for another path: staying close, telling the truth when it's time, but without turning every conversation into a sermon.
Patience hurts, because you care. But people, like good wine, sometimes need time, and many come back because a friend didn't leave. Meanwhile, you can pray for them: that never smothers anyone.
Key idea
With a friend on the wrong path, patience and closeness achieve more than insisting.
Your challenge for this idea
Pray for that friend today and arrange to do something with him that has nothing to do with his problem.
