What you buy when you're tired
Sometimes you don't need the thing: you need to feel a little better.
It's late, you've had a bad day and you end up browsing deals. One click, then another, and the next day a package arrives that no longer excites you much. It's nothing serious, but it's worth asking what you were really looking for.
Many purchases don't answer a need but a mood: boredom, tiredness, wanting to reward yourself. The relief lasts as long as it takes the delivery driver to arrive, and the gap you wanted to fill is still there.
A simple rule helps a lot: what isn't urgent gets bought tomorrow. If you still want it the next day, go ahead. If not, you've saved the money and learned something about what was going on with you.
Key idea
Before you buy, ask yourself whether you need the thing or just a little relief.
Your challenge for this idea
If today you feel like buying something that isn't urgent, leave it in the cart until tomorrow.
