What no one told you about pleasure

Seeking only to feel good ends up leaving little depth. Pleasure passes quickly, and when it becomes the center, it constantly asks for more and sustains less. Temperance does not reject what is enjoyable. It orders it. It teaches how to enjoy without depending, and how to choose also what builds you up even if it is not the most comfortable. Created goods are good, but they become fragile when you demand from them a fullness they cannot contain. The human heart needs a greater horizon.
