What happens to someone who never knew Christ?

The Church affirms that Christ is the Savior of all. That does not mean that God ignores a person's real history, non-culpable ignorance, or sincere search. It is not our place to measure souls as though we saw everything. It is our place to proclaim Christ, trust in God's mercy, and take seriously our own response to the light we have received. The key is not to use doubt as an excuse to remain still. A question lived well can bring you closer to God if asked with humility, if it seeks truth, and if it is willing to change something when it finds light.
