What destroys parental authority
Inconsistency weakens more than many mistakes.
Saying one thing and living another breaks trust. Promising consequences that are never enforced or always avoiding conflict for convenience also weakens authority.
Authority at home stems largely from example. It does not demand perfection, but it does require consistency, presence, and the ability to rectify when one is wrong.
A good leader does not need to occupy all the space. He provides direction, corrects with respect, and enables others to work and grow with more freedom.
