We are all under construction

The Christian life is not finished once and for all.

Sometimes you grow impatient with yourself because you still have faults. Also with others, because they do not change at the pace you would like. But the Christian life is a construction. God works with real materials: character, history, wounds, gifts, falls, and sincere desires to begin again. Being patient does not mean settling for anything. It means allowing grace to act in depth, without demanding perfect finishes ahead of time.

Key idea

God works in imperfect lives with patience and hope.

Your challenge for this idea

Be patient today with a fault of your own or someone else's, without ceasing to take the good step that is needed.
