Training the will from an early age

The will is formed through small habits, not through long speeches.

Children do not learn fortitude simply by hearing that they must make an effort. They learn it by doing small things that cost: tidying up, waiting, helping, finishing. Educating the will is teaching how to choose the good even when one does not feel like it. That formation begins in daily life and is felt for a lifetime. Family is nurtured in gestures that seem small: listening, resting, setting boundaries, and setting aside time. A home becomes more human when nobody lives constantly in urgent mode.
